Privacy information for Flickzi, developed by Jonathan Blat as an individual.
This page describes the current iPhone test version, including what is stored and how to request help.
Who runs Flickzi
Flickzi is developed by Jonathan Blat as an individual. This information describes the native app in development. Accounts and results from the separate website prototype do not transfer into this app.
Your guest and country
You can play without providing an email address. After you choose a country, the app connects a guest account and Player ID to your verified results. The country is selected by you; Flickzi does not request GPS location.
My Profile lets you save a player name on the server and change your country. Saving a name publishes it on player rankings and your public profile. An older private name stays private until you save it again. Do not include personal contact details in it. The server also records your best observed weekly ranks.
A guest still has a persistent identifier. Guest play does not mean that no information is collected.
Gameplay and saved progress
Progress, worlds, records, preferences and pending game actions are saved on this device. Game actions, relative timing and checkpoints are sent to the server to verify scores and prevent duplicate credit. The server keeps verification state, result receipts and country contributions.
Country rankings display country totals. Other connected players can see your eight-digit Player ID, selected country, weekly score and rank, and verified free-play totals, flick count and peak speed. When the updated profile service is enabled, profiles also show the calendar day your player account began (Playing since). They cannot see your sign-in credentials, game-action records or unsynced device progress.
Checkpoints sent for verification are not a full cloud backup. Uninstalling or losing a guest session can make local progress unavailable.
Challenges
Challenges are unavailable in this version. Earlier attempts, results and personal bests are retained separately from free-play progress. Eligible pending attempts can still be verified automatically with their original account. No new attempt can start in this version.
Attempts and pending input are saved on this device for verification and safe retry. A result is confirmed only after the server acknowledges it. The app may remove older, confirmed local attempts to make room, but keeps unconfirmed input. Input that could not be written to the device can be lost if the app closes.
Earlier challenge results keep their original week, country and tournament eligibility. Weekly challenge results become final after a 65-minute finish allowance; this does not extend free-play scoring.
Player names, reports and blocks
Names are checked before publication. You can report a displayed name from a player profile and contact support. The service stores the reporting and reported accounts, the name as reported, your selected reason, and the review outcome. Authorized reviewers can remove a name or restrict name changes; review actions and notes are recorded.
Blocking hides the player’s name and makes your profiles unavailable to each other. Their Player ID, country, score and rank remain in rankings so positions stay accurate. Your blocked-player list is private and you can unblock players in Settings.
Reports, blocks and review records are removed when the associated account is deleted. A separate time-based retention policy for these records has not yet been implemented in this development version.
Friends and earlier tournaments
Friends share the public game stats described above. Personal tournaments are unavailable in this version. Existing friendships and earlier tournament data are retained. A previously saved tournament action can still be confirmed safely with its original account; no new tournament can be created or joined in this app version.
The service keeps tournament names, invite codes, memberships, scores and results. Current members can see the tournament and its invite code. Anyone with a valid code can join. Copy and Share happen only when you choose them; information you share outside Flickzi is controlled by the recipient or service.
A pending tournament action is saved on this device with its original account and request ID so an interrupted action can be checked safely. Its name, code or report reason is removed from the current saved action after a confirmed outcome. Minimal confirmation information remains until replaced or account deletion.
Reporting a tournament name records the displayed name version, selected reason and review outcome. Authorized reviewers can hide a name or restrict invitations. Account deletion removes your memberships, contributions, personal results and associated report content. A shared tournament can remain for its other members; a deleted creator’s name and invitation access are removed, and completed results for other players remain fixed.
Completed weekly results
Last week’s results opens only when you choose it in Your stats. The service saves the final country totals and ranks, plus your own contribution, ranks and the country you played for. A private seen marker remembers a result you dismissed. Changing country later does not rewrite completed results.
Account deletion removes your personal weekly results and seen markers. Completed country totals and other players’ final results remain fixed. The country summary stores no account ID, Player ID or name; a separate time-based retention policy and the privacy review for these summaries are still being finalized.
Services and technical records
Supabase provides authentication, database storage and score verification. The current test app uses a development project in the eu-west-1 region. A separate production project has been prepared for a later release. Service providers can process IP addresses, connection information, authentication events and error or security records. Provider processing may also take place in other countries.
This support website is hosted through ChatGPT Sites and Cloudflare. Hosting providers process connection and security information needed to deliver the pages. These pages contain no advertising, analytics scripts or contact forms.
Support email is handled through Google Gmail. Emailing support shares your address and the message or attachments you choose to send. The app does not automatically attach your Player ID, credentials or saved game.
How information is used
Information is used to recognize your guest, preserve progress, verify eligible scores, run rankings, investigate problems and protect the service from misuse.
The current app has no advertising, behavioral analytics SDK, purchases, social sign-in, player messaging or contact-book access. Those features would need a new privacy review before being introduced.
Retention and deletion
Device progress is kept until removed. The development service currently retains account and associated gameplay records until account deletion; a separate time-based cleanup policy has not been implemented.
Use Settings → Account and data → Delete account and data. This removes your guest account, server gameplay records, personal cloud backups and country contributions, then clears progress and credentials on this device. An online account needs a connection. Interrupted requests resume when you reopen Flickzi.
An opaque deletion-receipt fingerprint remains to recover an interrupted request. Its table contains no account ID, Player ID, country, score or timestamp, and currently has no expiry.
Authentication audit records, infrastructure logs, provider backups and support messages are outside the account-deletion transaction. Their retention and request-handling details are being finalized before public release. Copies on another device or in an operating-system backup are not erased by this request.
Children and families
Flickzi is being developed for a broad audience, including adults, with children able to play as well. This test version does not set a new 13+ restriction.
The approach to children’s information is still under review for public release. This version does not implement an age check or parental-consent process. Any required protections must be completed before opening the public release to children.
Questions and choices
Contact flickzi.support@gmail.com for support or privacy questions. Account-specific requests need appropriate ownership verification; a Player ID alone is not proof of ownership.
You can adjust sound, haptics and motion in Settings, or delete your account and data. Creating fresh progress after deletion is a separate choice. Public-release rights and procedures will be finalized for the selected release countries.
